# Population Mean Formula
The population mean formula is an important part of statistics, which helps us to measure the central tendency of a given set of data. It is calculated by taking the sum of all the values in the data set and dividing it by the number of values in the data set.
Population mean is also known as average and is denoted by the Greek letter mu (μ). It is used to measure the central tendency of a population as it gives the average value of a data set. It can be used to measure the average income of a population, average rainfall in a region, or any other form of data that can be expressed in numerical form.
Population mean is a useful tool for estimating the average value of a variable in a population. It can also be used to compare different populations. For example, if we want to measure the average income of two different cities, we can calculate the population mean of each city and compare them. This will give us an idea of the differences in the average incomes of the two cities.
Population mean is an important concept in statistics as it helps us to measure the central tendency of a given set of data. It is calculated by taking the sum of all the values in the data set and dividing it by the number of values in the data set. The population mean helps us to understand the average value of a variable in a population and can be used to compare different populations.

The population mean formula is used to calculate the average value of a population (or group) of numbers. It is calculated by summing all the values in the population and then dividing by the number of values in the population.
Population Mean = (Sum of Values) / (Number of Values)
Example:
Let's say we have a population of 5 numbers: 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10.
The population mean is calculated by summing all the values in the population and then dividing by the number of values in the population:
Population Mean = (2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + 10) / 5
Population Mean = 30 / 5
Population Mean = 6
